Coca-Cola and the Hispanic Federation Team Up to Fight Hunger in NYC
November 15, 2011
Fewer families went hungry across NYC last fall as Coca-Cola helped provide food to those in need by partnering with the Hispanic Federation to launch the Thanksgiving Food Drive. Coca-Cola employees helped to collect canned goods to support food pantries through the Smithtown, Maspeth, Staten Island, Bronx and Elmsford distribution facilities.
After the food was collected, the Hispanic Federation’s Partners on-the-Go Van stopped at the different locations across the city, including the District Office of Assemblywoman Grace Meng pictured above, to pick up and deliver the canned goods to those in need. Community members were encouraged to follow the “Partners” van route and collection totals through daily updates, videos and photos on the Hispanic Federation’s website and Facebook page.
